Altanta, GA — November 5, 2010 — PotentialBest.com is the Web presence for a unique character education program founded by educator Bridgit Eaton Partilis and her son, Evan.

As she sat one night beside Evan's hospital bed and thought about how an accident had drastically changed the life of this 20 year-old, Bridgit realized that one thing had not changed.

Evan's indomitable spirit had remained constant. In spite of facing nine surgeries in 30 months and excruciating pain as he manually rotated twelve screws that were a part of his Ilizarov External Fixator to pry his bones apart three times a day, his body literally grew five inches of new bone.

Bridgit asked herself: How has Evan conquered a life challenge that would have caused most people to give up?

In the middle of one long night, Bridgit identified the qualities that made Evan a victor instead of a victim. She realized that, when faced with what could have been an insurmountable obstacle, Evan had relied on the strong character that was his lifestyle.

As an educator concerned with the total well-being of every student at Eaton Academy, Bridgit looked for ways to transfer the abstract qualities her son possessed into a hands-on, practical curriculum that could apply to any life.

In a dimly lit room, Bridgit developed the beginning of the BEST curriculum, which is now an integral part of Eaton Academy. As she, Evan, and the staff developed and implemented BEST at Eaton, they found that its simple principles, when presented in an enjoyable, experiential way, had a powerful effect on students. They noticed that students began making a conscious effort to succeed and to make wise choices. They knew that BEST deserved a broader audience.
