My uncle didn't wear women's corsets, yet he owned and operated a successful women's corset shop for decades.

I'm astonished (although, to be honest, I'm easily astonished) by the number of business owners who still respond to the question "Do you have a Web site or Facebook Page?" with "No, I don't use computers or the Internet very much."
I suppose that's doubly astonishing, actually. My 90 year-old mother-in-law has an iPad 2 and a state-of-the-art desktop computer. When either is not working (and by "not working", I mean the Wi-Fi network might be down for a few minutes), she is beside herself. So, yes, I'm surprised when people — business-owners — half her age claim to be non-users of computers and the Internet.
More to the point, though: The fact that YOU don't use computers or the Internet much doesn't change the fact that a whole lot of people who are or could be your customers do.
If entrepreneurs and professionals limited themselves to avenues pertinent only to their own needs, we'd be in a sorry state. (For sure there would be a lot fewer male gynecologists.)
