Lessons In Your Home

Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, pianist Jay Maurice began his professional music career upon arriving in Atlanta in 1996. Earning a reputation as a solid solo and group performer, he started teaching piano in 1997. Teaching became his new passion, and Lessons In Your Home was born.
Jay's team of professional music instructors teach just about every musical instrument in existence — as well as composition, music education, and music therapy — to students ranging in age from 5 to 75 in six U.S. cities (and counting).
Lessons In Your Home teachers come to your home. Jay explains:
"Throughout the years we have come to believe that our lessons are most appreciated in your home. Unlike some room at a music store, your home is naturally nurturing. The teacher feels more like family than a teacher. Your home becomes a conservatory, and the student becomes a part of our family."
Lessons In Your Home is also active in schools, offering after-school programs as well as in-school instructors to supplement schools' music faculties. The company's Little Music Makers program is designed for pre-schoolers, with a curriculum that includes singing, listening, and playing.
The company's philosophy is that you're never too young — or old — to learn how to play a musical instrument.
Jay Maurice and Jeff Cohan first "met" and had their first discussions about a Web-site project in 2005. Five years later — almost to the day — Jay contacted Jeff to discuss a redesign of the LIYH Web site in earnest.
The site redesign was launched in April of 2011. Less than two months later, nSiteful integrated a WordPress blog into the site.
Our key contributions: Strategic planning, structural design; visual design and production; database design and programming; HTML and PHP production. WordPress blog implementation.
