Libra Basic Plan: What You Get
The Libra Basic Plan offers everything you need to establish a fully-functioning and professional Web site.
Web Hosting
We will help you create a new Hosting Account for your site on a Web server of an approved hosting partner, and we assist you in pointing your domain name to the account when the time for launch comes. Please note that this hosting account will be in your name and that you will bear the cost of the hosting fees (as low as $4.95/month when pre-paid for 36 months).
Web-Site Installation
We install the WordPress system (database and scripting engine) on your Hosting Account.
Theme Selection, Acquisition and Installation
The term "Theme" refers to the layout, color scheme, and standard graphic elements of your site. Some online Template-Wizard services may refer to this as a template or skin. A WordPress Theme consists of a specific set of files that is installed on and incorporated into your Web site.
We will direct you to the WordPress.org Theme directory and provide you with guidance with respect to the types of themes that support your requirements for your site. (Most themes are universal and support most people's needs. Some themes are specialized and may not suit your purposes as well as others.)
After you make your theme selection, we will acquire it on your behalf (passing along commercial fees, if applicable) and install it on your site. If the theme you select supports user-customizable background colors and header graphics, we'll help you tackle that.
Site Configuration
We perform initial configuration of the WordPress system, including but not limited to:
- general settings (default site name and tagline; registration defaults; time and date settings; etc.)
- writing settings (CMS layout; category defaults for blog entries; remote publishing settings; etc.)
- reading settings (blog defaults for character encoding, number of posts per page, what is included in feeds, etc.)
- discussion settings (defaults for commenting on pages and blog entries; comment moderation parameters; etc.)
- media settings (location for uploaded content; standard sizes for uploaded images)
- privacy settings
Note: As an administrator of your Web site, you will be able to alter any or all of these configuration settings at any time.
Installing, Activating & Configuring Core Plugins
We install and activate a core set of plugins which extend WordPress' core functionality. These plugins have been researched, tested, and endorsed by nSiteful; and they provide functionality in the following categories: search engine optimization; site performance optimization; interactive Web forms; image galleries; Web-site tables; social bookmarking.
Main Menu Setup & Page Creation
Based on your input, we will set up the main menu of the site and create the placeholder pages. There is no limit on the number of placeholder pages we will create for you during initial setup. After the initial setup is completed, you may want changes; this is normal. During the training (see below), you will have learned how to do this yourself.
Basic Training
Our 1-hour Basic Training session gives you a solid overview of how to use the WordPress Administration Panels to build out and maintain your Web site and blog. (Additional training is available on an as-needed basis.)
This session — which we'll conduct using Web-conferencing software — will acquaint you with the "Dashboard" of the WordPress Content Management System (CMS). This will give you an opportunity to then explore the Dashboard and WordPress administrative interface on your own, to develop a schema, so that subsequent training sessions, if needed, will be more productive.
The Basic Training will teach you how to:
- log into your Web-site Dashboard
- compose, style and publish content for your site's pages
- upload and embed media in pages and blog entries
- compose and publish blog entries
- edit and delete pages and blog entries (including flagging them as drafts which the public will not see)
- use categories and tags to organize blog entries
- modify your Web site's configuration settings
- add and manage users (e.g., other authors or editors)
- moderate comments
